Bertha Joy Austin
Bertha Joy Austin, a resident of Tuolumne, died in Modesto Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005. She was 89.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church in Porterville, with the Rev. Warren Taylor officiating.
Interment will be at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery in Lindsay.
Mrs. Austin was a native of Phoenix, Ariz., and a previous resident of the Porterville and Strathmore area. She was a member of Strathmore Evangelical Church.
She is survived by three daughters; one step-daughter; one step-son; one sister, Retha Newbold of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Austin; her parents, Carl and Evelyn Rousseau; and one brother, Carl Stuart Rousseau, Jr.
