Death of a Venerable Lady.—Mrs. Mary B. Blackford, widow of the late Wm. M. Blackford, of Lynchburg, died early this morning in Fairfax county, near this city. Mrs. Blackford was the only daughter and last surviving child of Gen. John Minor, of Fredericksburg, who died in 1816, and was nearly ninety-four years old. She had resided for more than twenty-five years with her son, the principal of the Episcopal High School, near this city, where she died, but, though most of her life and invalid, her death was caused simply by the exhaustion of old age. She leaves six children—Messrs. W. W., C. M. and L. M. Blackford, and Mrs. J. Churchill Cooke, of Virginia, with Messrs. B. L. Blackford, of Washington, and Eugene Blackford, of Maryland.
