Fred H. McDonald, 76, of 9703 Lower Valley Pike, Medway, died early Tuesday morning, February 20, 1990, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield. He was born October 25, 1913, in Clark County, Ohio, the son of Edgar and Mary (Helman) McDonald.
Mr. McDonald was a Clark County resident all his life. Fred retired in 1960 after 20 years as a sheet metal foreman at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and then worked at Trostels Furniture Store, New Carlisle, and retired in 1977 after 17 years service.
A member of F. & A. M. Number 100 of New Carlisle, Chapter Number 57 of New Carlisle, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Order of Eastern Star Number 423 of New Carlisle, and a member of the Maiden Lane Church of God, Springfield.
Fred served on the Board of Education of the New Carlisle-Bethel School System in the 1960's, and was a member of the Medway Cemetery Board. He volunteered much of his time to the Ohio Masonic Home and the Task Force for organizing the Ohio Parkinson Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Bette; two sons, James E. McDonald, of Boynton Beach, Florida and Jack F. and his wife, Joanne McDonald, of Titusville, Florida; two grandchildren, Jim and Megan McDonald.
Services will be held Friday, February 23, 1990 at 1 p.m. in the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home, New Carlisle, with Rev. Ralph Hatch officiating. Burial in Medway Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home with Masonic services to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
