In the death of Mr. J.E. Garner, which occurred at his home near Lindsey Sunday morning, 21st inst., Washington county loses another of her excellent and most valued citizens.
He had been ill but a few days from that dread disease, pneumonia, when he succumbed to the malady, the severity of the attack making his condition critical almost from the first.
Mr. Garner will be greatly missed, not only in his immediate section but throughout the county wherever the force of his stalwart character had made itself felt.
The funeral took place Monday morning at Union church, conducted by Rev. J.G. Harrison of Macon. A wife and three children survive him. A wide circle of relatives and friends sorrow with them in their great loss.
