Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Tikalsky Sr. were held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with the Rev. C. C. Jirik officiating. Pallbearers were Jerry Hermann Jr., George Petricka, Michael Malecha, William Tikalsky, Joseph S. Tupy and William Dweyer. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Tikalsky passed away at the University Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 20, following a short illness. She was the former Adeline Svoboda, daughter of Frank and Mary Bastyr Svoboda. She was born Aug. 8, 1908, in Wheatland Township. On Oct. 25, 1927, she was married to Joseph Tikalsky and they made their home in New Prague. Mrs. Tikalsky is survived by her husband Joseph; two daughters, Mrs. Leo W. (Adeline) Malecha of Excelsior and Mrs. Eugene H. (Mary) Dweyer of LeCenter; two sons, Joseph and Matthew Tikalsky, New Prague; four sisters, Mrs. Frank J. (Mary) Pexa of Veseli, Mrs. John M. (Anna) Tupy of New Prague, Mrs. Michael (Emily) Heller of Minneapolis and Mrs. Ted (Angeline) Nelson of Montgomery; two brothers, Frank Svoboda of New Prague and Emil Svoboda of Webster; and 14 grandchildren. A brother, James Svoboda, preceded her in death in 1967.
