Funeral services for Mrs. Roman J. Seurer were held Wednesday morning, July 22, at the Bruzek Funeral Home and at the Church of St. Wenceslaus with the Rev. Gerald Schunk offering the Requiem Mass. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. C. M. Popelka gave the sermon. Pallbearers were: Charles Blaha, Ed Pauly, Albert Terwedo, Walter Kohoutek, Myron Eickens and Jerry Minar. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Seurer, nee Mary Lou Bartyzal, was the daughter of Frank and Regina Zaum Bartyzal. She was born in New Prague Dec. 25, 1932, and was 31 years of age at the time of her death. She was raised in the New Prague community and attended schools there. On April 23, 1953, she married Roman J. Seurer, and they made their home in New Prague. Mrs. Seurer died at the University Hospital in Minneapolis Saturday evening, July 18, after an illness of about four years. She is survived by: her husband, five sons, Roman, Rodney, Russell, Roy and Robert; her parents, six brothers, Richard of Waconia, Clayton of Jordan, Clifford of Newport News, Va., Kenneth of Montgomery, Dale of New Prague and Russell of Hawaii; and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Armstrong (Geraldine) of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Ronald Feddie (Beverly) of Brandon, Wis., and Mrs. Don Tikalsky (Helen) of Montgomery. Relatives and friends from St. Paul, Minneapolis and the surrounding communities attended the services.
