Martin L. Brown, Sr., 79, of Esmont, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 7, 2011, at Trinity Mission of Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was the son of the late Johnny and Harriett Brown White.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted family, his wife, Annie Brown; four sons, Joe Brown and Clarence Lewis Wright, both of Charlottesville, Virginia, Roger Brown of Esmont, Virginia, and Martin Brown Jr. of Howardsville, Virginia; three daughters, Patricia Coles of Richmond, Virginia, Harriett Brown of Howardsville, Virginia, and Linda Chambers and her husband, Clarence, of Esmont, Virginia; one brother, Morrell Brown and his wife, Beatrice, of Waynesboro, Virginia; twenty-two grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Funeral services was conducted Saturday, November 12, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend Mary Carey officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
