After a lingering illness of about two years' duration, Mrs. Fred A. Sage passed away at her home on Main street in this village at midnight on Friday, February 10th, death resulting from blood poisoning.
Gertrude M. Kelly was a daughter of William and Saphronia Kelly and was born in the town of Covington on July 26, 1877. On July 10, 1898, she was united in marriage with Mr. Fred. A. Sage of Perry Center and they located in this village, where they have since resided. One son was born of this union, Hayden, who is now about two years of age.
Besides her husband and son, Mrs. Sage is survived by her father, Mr. William Kelly of LaGrange; by three brothers, Charles of Rochester, Samuel and Roy of LaGrange; and by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Leddick of LaGrange. She is also survived by three half brothers, Enum of West Perry, Frank of Perry Center, Ellery of Bliss, and by one half sister, Mrs. Lydia Michael of Gainesville. Her Maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Calkins of LaGrange, also survive her.
Funeral services were held at her late home on Monday afternoon. Interment was in Hope cemetery. (Fred obviously had her disinterred and moved here, perhaps when their son died.)
