Glenn (Bus) Tipton, 70, died Sunday, August 22, 1982 at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo of a heart condition. He was born December 9, 1911 at Springville, the son of Isaac Norman and Lula Allan Tipton. He was married to Elva Ruff September 20, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had lived in Springville all of his life and was a graduate of Springville High School. He had been employed as sales manager for G. Lowery Anderson Ford Co. and Chuck Peterson Motors Co. in Provo. Active in civic affairs he had served as City Councilman, on the City Planning Commission, past president and member of the Springville Kiwanis Club, and Board of Directors of the Red Cross. He had served for 32 years on the Springville Volunteer Fire Department and was past Chief of that organization. Mr. Tipton was active in the LDS Church and had served as Elders Quorum President, Bishop, and Stake High Councilman. He was currently serving in the Sunday School presidency. Surviving are his wife of Springville; four daughters and one son; Marilyn (Wayne) Samuelson of Phoenix Arizona, Judy (Leon) Bleggi of Rexburg Idaho, Sharon (John) Hansen of Fillmore Utah, Glenna (Bob) Gottfredson and Allan (Teresa) Tipton of Springville; 18 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Norman Tipton, Don Tipton, Berniece Rigtrup, Helen Bringhurst and Noami Moser. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Springville North Stake Center at 370 North 400 East. Bishop Daniel Evans of the 17th Ward officiated. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
