She was born in Perry county in 1903 and had lived in Ava most of her life.
She was married in 1920 to Jacob Clinton, who survives with six children; Hilton of Murphysboro, Mrs. Charles Knop of Ava, and Leslie, Walter Jacob, Jr., and Betty, all at home; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George Kowalski of Percy; and three brothers, Lawrence Byrd of Sparta, Jack Byrd of Pinckneyville and Edel Byrd of Du Quoin. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
The body will remain at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava until the hour of services. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church, the Rev. J. W. Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
