Born on Christmas Day, 1897, he was a son of the late John and Maria McClune Crouse, and was a member of the Salem, Va., Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Mildred Brannon; son Roy Dean, also at home; four daughters--Mrs. Robert Miller, Mrs. Freda McNelly, Mrs. Mary Jane Myers, Berkeley Springs; Mrs. Vivian Hinckle, Bel Air, Md.; brother David Crouse, Martinsburg; four sisters--Mrs. Minnie Merica Berkeley Springs; Mrs. Louise Place, Mrs. Maude Cloud, Martinsburg; Mrs. Russell McIntyre, Winchester, Va. and 16 grandchildren.
The body was at the Hunter Funeral Home where friends and relatives met Monday at 1 p.m. to go to Salem Church for services at 2, conducted by the Rev Phillip E. Weeks. Burial was in the church cemetery, with fellow members of the Methodist Men's Club serving as bearers.
