Grace W. (Wounderly) Day, 91, formerly of Maidencreek Township, died Nov. 5, 2011, in Arden Court, Allentown. Born Jan. 8, 1920, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Ida I. (Labe) Wounderly. She was the wife of John A. Day who died Sept. 23, 1971.

Grace was employed as an assembler with Willson Safety Products for 38 years, retiring in June 1985. She was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Grace was assistant chairperson of Maidencreek Township Parks and Recreation Department in 1988, Treasurer of U.S. Steelworkers of America Local #6137 from 1984-1985, Chairman of Health and Safety Committee in 1978, President of Blandon Senior Citizen's Club in 1989 and Vice President of Old Timer's U.S. Workers of America in 1989.

Surviving are two daughters, Billie E., wife of Edward C. Schanely of Boyertown, and Jonnie Ann, wife of Richard Rothermel of Kingman, AZ. Other survivors include four grandchildren: Julie, wife of Paul Bonargo, of Ruscombmanor Township, Jessica, wife of Frank Bors, of Alburtis, Denni Schmehl of Macungie and Adam Schanely of Oley Township; and seven great-grandchildren. Grace was predeceased by seven siblings.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
