Robert B. Kimbrough Jr., 84, passed away June 4, 2009, to join his wife of 60 years, Audrey W. (Berry) Kimbrough, in our heaven above, after withstanding the challenges of chronic Guillain-Barre syndrome, Parkinson's disease, and dementia.

Bob was born the eldest child of Thursa (Hunter) and Robert B. Kimbrough Sr., in Cushing, Oklahoma, on May 14, 1925.

He was drafted into the Army during his senior year in high school and there he completed his high school education. He served in the Army Air Corps as a paratrooper and demolition expert during World War II in Europe. He was on a troop carrier waiting outside the Panama Canal when the war with Japan ended.

Most of his working career was on the Hanford Reservation as a guard and as an office equipment manager where he retired in 1987.

Bob was a member and officer of the Hanford Guard's Union while a guard at Hanford. He was an active member of the Tri-City Genealogy Society. Bob was also a long time member of the Pasco First United Methodist Church and the Franklin County Historical Museum.

Many happy memories were made during the family vacations. He enjoyed his family, genealogy, traveling, fishing, gardening, and his computers.

Bob was preceded in death by Audrey on December 27, 2007, infant daughter- Linda Kimbrough, his parents, brother- Pete Kimbrough, sister- Ora Kimbrough, and infant brother, Duke Kimbrough.

He is survived by son- Robert (Pam) Kimbrough; daughters- Lea (Chuck) Vogt, Sybil (Royal) Otte, Jane Kimbrough, and Elizabeth Combs; brother Gilbert (Bonnie) Kimbrough; sister Marie (Richard) Sloot; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Our most special thanks to From-The-Heart adult care home where Bob spent his last three years.
