Charles M. Morrison, 352 York Road died early this morning in the Carlisle Hospital shortly after being admitted. He was 82 years old.
Born on Oct. 13, 1883, at Landisburg, Perry County. He was a son of the late Andrew and Annie Neely Morrison. He lived most of his life in Cumberland County where he was engaged in farming on his own farm in Middlesex Township for many years and later for Claremont Farms for 18 years, retiring three years ago.
He attended the Hickorytown Methodist Church and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Lydia Sheaffer Morrison, to whom he had been married 62 years; four sons, Russell F., New Kingstown; Lester W., Lewistown; Lt. Col. Merle E., Air Force in Brauahauman, Germany, and Lee C., Trindle Road; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Griffie, RD3, Newville, and Mrs. Norman Adams, RD6; one brother, Walter E., Carlisle; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Rice, Landisburg; Mrs. Miles Dunkleberger, New Bloomfield, and Mrs. Mary Keck, Carlisle; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren
The funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St. The Rev. Paul E. Birt, pastor of the Hickorytown Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Kutz Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday evening.
