Sturgis; Pearl Elizabeth SKEELS, 74, of 1301 Cato Lane, Sturgis, Mich., died Dec. 14, 2000, at Thurston Woods Village, Sturgis, following a one month illness.
She was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Colon Township, Mich., a daughter of Irvin L. and Eunice B. (SNOOK) WAGNER. A Sturgis resident since 1993, she came from White Pigeon where she lived since 1950.
Her first marriage was to Leslie WEINBERG, and her second husband was Jack SKEELS, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was employed for many years at Continental Can in Three Rivers, Mich., and she also worked for Roy’s Grocery Store in White Pigeon.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Leslie WEINBERG of Fennville, Mich.; five sons, Leonard WEINBERG of Tennessee, Larry WEINBERG of Sturgis, Douglas and Ray SKEELS of White Pigeon, Richie SKEELS of Sturgis; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nettie McGILL of Sturgis and Muriel HOVARTER of Colon; five brothers, Raymond “John†WAGNER, Robert WAGNER and Irvin Leon WAGNER Jr., all of Colon, George WAGNER of Union City and Harry WAGNER of Tustin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a sister, Beatrice; a twin brother, Earl WAGNER; and a brother, Jim WAGNER.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Graveside services and burial will take place at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
