Ruth Hines Carter, 78 years of age, a resident of Somerset, Kentucky departed this life on Monday evening, November 7th, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Ruth was born on April 6th, 1933 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Willie Hardin Hines and Zenia Margaret Anderson Hines. Ruth enjoyed auctions, antiques, reading and visiting with people.
Ruth was survived by her loving companion, Tony Lowe; her children, Gary (and Sherry) Carter of Somerset, Kentucky and Angela (and Carl) Lee of Campbellsville, Kentucky; her three grandchildren, Gary Carter Jr., Emilee Carter, and Adam Godby; two step-grandchildren, Austin Lee and Brooklyn Lee; three great grandchildren, Grace Ann Carter, Cameron Carter, and Julie Weddle; and one brother, Phillip Hines of Somerset, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Zenia Margaret Hines; three sisters, Velma Spillman, Dorothy Bray, and Catherine Hines; and one brother, Floyd Hines.
Visitations were held after 5:00 pm. on Wednesday evening, November 9th, 2011 at the Lange & New Bros. Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10th, 2011 in the Chapel of the Lange & New Bros. Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky.
