He married Marie Libby of Laclede and six children were born, Stanley the oldest died as a infant; Connie Western of Linneus, Mo; Max of Maryville, Mo; Robert E of Kansas City, Mo; William Ray of Ft. Madison, Iowa He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs Birdie Kelley, and Mrs Ed Barkley of Linneus; two brothers, H Thomas Brown and Theodore Brown of Claremore, Oklahoma.
At he time of his death, was serving the second term as Sheriff of Linn County, Mo.He died from a cerebral hemorrage.
