Mrs. William Morning Davis was born Feb. 4, 1863, and departed this life after a brief illness Nov. 5, 1938, having attained the age of 74 years, nine months and one day. She was married to Joel Martin and to this union two children were born, one dying in infancy, the husband also preceded her in death in 1886. On Aug. 23, 1896, she was married to J.T. Davis. In 1905 she united with the Christian church in Nixa, and was a member of that church at the time of her death. Those who survive are her husband, J.T. Davis, and one son, Herbert J. Martin, of Nixa; three sisters, Mrs. Bettie Good of Mt. Vernon, Mo., Mrs. Jane Hart of Altamont, Kans., and Mrs. Nannie Bethel of Hobart, Okla.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McConnell cemetery conducted by Rev. R.G. Harding of Nixa with burial there under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever, Mo.
