02/16/1711 - Capt Mapes died, aged 60 yrs
Thomas-2 Mapes, Jr was the son of immigrant Thomas-1 & Sarah (Purrier) Mapes. He was the grandson of immigrant William-1 and Alice (Knight) Purrier.
Thomas was married 3 times and left no known children:
1 - Mary (____), the widow of William-1 Wells (Md After 1671)
2 - Esther (____), "Capt Mapes wife Ester died, 05/16/1709" (Salmon Records) (Md abt 1708)
3 - Bethiah Terry, widow of Thomas Goldsmith (married Richard Steer after Thomas Mapes died. Married Thomas Mapes Bet May 1709 - Feb 1711.

(Agreement between William Wells (the son) and Thomas Mapes re the estate of William Wells, dtd 07/08/1681
Agreement between Thomas Mapes, Jun and William Wells: "ye estate yt was formerly sd Wm Wells his fathers, and now is reversed and revolved upon sd Wm Wells", the parties obligated themselves with five hundred pounds (a large sum in those days), "we, ye underwritten arbitrators" ... "declare these presents to be our full finall and absolute Judgment determination and award concerning all ye matters and things mentioned as followeth:"
1. Thomas Mapes, Jun will move from where he now liveth. These lands were "in possession of sd Mapes by reason of his intermarrying with Mrs. Wells his relect, he shall deliver..."
2. Wm Wells will pay Thomas Mapes 25 pounds
3. Thomas Mapes shall have and receive one third of increase of sheep and swine since his marriage to Mrs. Wells before 09/29 next. Plus one half of corn and grain (except Wm Wells own grain).
4. "Thomas Mapes shall have and carry away such pewter, and brass, and other household goods, as have ben purchased and procured since his marriage aforesaid without lett or impediment."
