Anna Jane Barrett, 89, formerly of Franklin RD 4, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Eureka, Calif., where she resided for the past three and a half years with her daughter. Born July 18, 1912, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Joseph M. and Mary A. Kearney Barrett. Mrs. Barrett graduated in 1929 from Sacred Heart Academy in Franklin. She was employed for three years by J.T. Campbell's in Franklin and for 12 years at Polk Center, retiring April 15, 1977. Mrs. Barrett was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin. She was married Oct. 4, 1946, at Camp Lee, Va., to James C. Barrett, who preceded her in death April 12, 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Lester and her husband, Dick, of Eureka, Calif., and Linda Barrett of Mission Viejo, Calif.; three sons, Joel Barrett of Mission Viejo, Calif., John Barrett of Torrance, Calif., and Bruce Barrett of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Robert, Scott and Juliana Lester of Eureka, Calif., Joanna Barrett of Torrance, Calif., and Andrew Barrett of Franklin; and one great-grandson. Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at a later date, and interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
