MAXIE, Va. — Jonathan Leon Looney, 40 years of age, of Maxie, Va., passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Mouth Card, Ky. Born in Tazewell County, Va., he was the son of Leon Dempsie and Evelyn Lucinda Willis Looney, Maxie, Va. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Breaks Church of Christ. Jonathan served in the United States Army Reserve and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 742. He was a 1989 graduate of Grundy Senior High School and was a member of Harman Volunteer Fire Department. He was a loving son, brother and uncle, and was a welder for Mescher Manufacturing Company.

He is survived by his parents, Leon Dempsie and Evelyn Lucinda Willis Looney, Maxie, Va.; one brother, Jeffery Looney, Maxie, Va.; one nephew, Cody Wayne Looney, Maxie, Va.

Memorial services for Jonathan Leon Looney will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg.
