Michael F. Castagna, age 84 of Newtown died November 1, 2011 in Danbury Hospital. Mr. Castagna was the husband of the late Helen (Macri) Castagna. He was born in Germantown, PA December 30, 1926 a son of the late Anthony and Nancy (Maluasso) Castagna. Michael grew up in Norwalk and for many years he was the owner and operator of Korner Kuts Barber Shop in Norwalk. In 1978 he moved to Newtown where he and his late wife owned the Botsford Drive-In Restaurant. Michael was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of VFW Post 308 in Newtown.

He is survived by 2 sons, Craig Castagna of Simi Valley, CA and Michael F. Castagna, Jr. of Palm Coast FL; a daughter Marisa Castagna of Newtown; a brother, Patsy Castagna of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister Catherine Chiarolanzo of Texas and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday November 5, 2011 (today) at 1:00pm in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
