Robert W. Heitz, 91 of Springfield, Il died Friday, November 4, 2011 at home.

He was born April 18, 1920 in Springfield, the son of Adam Robert and Mary Murphy Heitz. He married Ellen J. Weitzel on November 4, 1944 and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2011.

His parents, two great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons Bob (Kathy) Heitz of Loami, Ken (Angela) Heitz of Bradley, a sister, Alberta Teichman, of Springfield Nine grandchildren, 18 great–grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert owned and operated Bob's Market and Loop Market. He was a veteran of the Navy during WW II. Robert was a member of St. Cabrini Church.

Visitation: 9:30 am to 11:30 am Monday November 7, 2011 at St. Cabrini Church.

Funeral Mass: 11:30 am Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Cabrini Church with Reverend Richard Chiola, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Cabrini Church.
