Mary married Thomas J Isentrager in Conventon Ky. She had convinced him to marry her under an assumed name, and he used Charles Eckman. Eckman was his mother maiden name. The reason given was she said who father had forbid her to marry him and he would find her otherwise. They both worked for the railroad. They had one child Luella but the marriage soon broke up. She did not divorce him as she filled for half his Civil War Pension. She was 22 years younger then him. While fighting to keep his pension Thomas died of a stroke and she got the money. She collected the money under the name Mary Isentrager, but under everything else she went by Mary Eckman even to having the daughter baptized as Luella Eckman, As soon as she got the pension she place the daughter in a Soldier Orphanage as Luella Isentrager. She used what every name was to her best interest. Mary died as a Eckman The daughter married as a Eckman also.
