Ebenezer Strong was born in 1643 at Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts (where his parents were living at that time) to Elder John and Abigail Ford Strong.
He married Hannah Clapp October 14, 1668 at Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts and their children were: Hannah, Ebenezer Jr., Nathaniel, Sarah (died young), Preserved, Sarah (again), Jonathan, Noah and a set of twins that were still-born, names and gender unknown in our records. Ebenezer was the son of the Strong immigrant (John) and was a first generation American, born while the country was yet a colony of England.
He was a farmer and a tanner at Northampton, and like his father, a ruling Elder in the church. He was a constable in 1679. He was often a selectman between 1682 and 1728 and in his early life referred to as sergeant and deacon.
After his death, his estate was inventoried at 950 pounds. He willed his tan-yard to his son Ebenezer Jr. Ebenezer Sr. died January 11, 1729 at Northampton and is presumed buried there.
