My Great Grandfather
I want to thank you so much for posting a picture of my Great Grandfather's. He seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth and through one word..Lomond... we found his burial place. He left the states looking for work in Canada in 1928. From there no one new anything of him. Thanks for taking the time so that we now know where he is.

RE: My Great Grandfather
My great grandfather was Raymond Bogart. He is a man of mystery. He left his family in North Dakota in 1928 to find work in Canada. We understand that the family was to follow, but it never did. It showed that he entered Canada at a port in Saskatchewan so that is where we were looking. A local newspaper prints things that happened years ago and under the 75 years ago was a notice that his son, George, received a letter that his dad had died in Lomond, Alberta. We only have found 2 pictures of him. So you see, when I found his grave marker on Find A Grave, I was excited. Somewhere in Canada his parents, Benjamin and Alice (Murch) Bogart are also buried. You give me hope that through the kindness of a stranger and his wife that some day I may find them.
I will add a picture to his site. Thanks again for taking the time to do this.

Raymond Owen Bogart was born Feb. 2, 1882 in Eagle Bend, Long Praire Township, Todd, Minnesota. He married Bertha Bessie Nowek on April 1, 1905. They had 5 children, Elsie, George, Twins Edith and Elizabeth, and Gordon. His wife and family lived in Michigan, North Dakota, USA. Ray left them in 1928 to find work in Canada. He entered at a Saskatchewan port on January 31, 1928. His parents Benjamin (Boyd) and Alice (Murch) Bogart and brother Louis were already in Canada according to the 1916 Canadian census. They were listed as living at Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
