Mrs. Volstead Dies at Her Washington Home
Washington, April 13. - Mrs. Volstead, wife of Representative Andrew J. Volstead of Minnesota, died at her home in this city after an illness of about eight months.
She was Miss Nellie Gilrouth and was born in Kirriemuri, Scotland, in 1868.
She came here in 1879 with her parents and resided first at Rockford, Ill.
Later she moved to Canby, Minn., where she was married to Mr. Volstead in 1894.
Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Miss Laura Volstead, who will graduate from the law school of George Washington university in this city at the end of the present term.
The body will be taken to Granite Falls tomorrow and funeral services will be held there next Wednesday.

Mrs. Nellie Volstead, wife of Congressman Volstead, died at her home at Washington last Saturday.
Mrs. Volstead, whose maiden name was Nellie Gilruth, was born at Kirriemuri, Scotland in 1868 and came to America in 1879 with her parents who settled at Rockford, Ill.
She was married to Mr. Volstead at Granite Falls in 1894.
They have one daughter, Miss Laura, who will graduate this spring from the Law School of George Washington's University.
The funeral occurred today at Granite Falls.
