Laurence served as a Sergeant & Gunner on B-24J #42-100253, 515th Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Payette County, Idaho prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 15, 1943 in Boise, Idaho. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Carpenter and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24J #42-100253 took off from San Pancrazio, Italy on a bombing mission over Regensburg, Germany. After the bombing mission was completed B-24J #42-100253, for an unknown reason, crashed into B-24D #42-72847 causing both aircraft to crash in Germany during the war.

Laurence was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Service # 39907663

He was originally interred in France and was later repatriated here on July 27, 1949.
