Robert Lee "Jiggs" Stevens, 82-year-old Sharon OK resident, died November 1, 2011, at the Woodward Regional Hospital. Mr. Stevens was born on September 4, 1929, in Vici OK to Albert and Anna Grace (Rinner) Stevens. He attended grade school at the Webster School, which was a small country school, and graduated from Vici High School in 1944. After his graduation Jiggs worked various odd jobs before he was inducted into the United States Army in 1952. After serving his country Jiggs was honorably discharged in 1954. Jiggs returned to Vici and went to work for Woodward County where he did everything from mechanic work to operating the road grader. He married Merdith Fern Hall on June 15, 1963, in Woodward at the Woodward Church of Christ. They made their home in Vici until moving to Sharon in the mid 1970's. After his retirement he opened a lawn mower and small engine repair shop.

Jiggs was a friend to all and was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He and Merdith loved to travel and did so until they were no longer able. Jiggs loved watching Sharon-Mutual sports, and he was proud of the fact he had received the J.E. Adams Award in 2007.
