Scurry Foster Found Dead at Chappell Hill

Scurry Foster, 51 years old almost to a day, was found dead in bed at his home in Chappell Hill this morning. A leather belt attached to the bed post was found around his neck. Continued bad health is assigned as the cause.

Services will be held at the home at 9:30 tomorrow morning by Rev. Saers, pastor of the Methodist church at Chappell Hill. Burial will follow at the Masonic cemetery. He is survived by four daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. R. T. Carlisle, Mrs. F. O. Prescott, Mrs. J. B. Matthews, Mrs. Roy Springfield all of Chappell Hill. J. M. Foster, Oklahoma City, and J. O. Foster, La.

The deceased was a native of this state. He was born at Buckhorn, Austin County; July 27 1863. He had lived at Chappell Hill for many years and was known throughout this county and numbered his friends by the hundreds. Recently he was compelled to retire from active work because of ill health and it is thought that continuous worry prompted the act.
