Other probate records for his father William Anderson Mounts' estate show 1855 and 1856, the 1860 census prior to his birthday showed 4 yrs old, and on and on so take your pick. Charles' death cert shows he was born in Columbus Indiana, and William Anderson Mounts was the only Mounts with a son named Charles from this time.

CHARLES MOUNTS FUNERAL WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY
Funeral services for Charles S. Mounts, 85, will be held at the Roger Darling garden chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Santa Clara city cemetery Monday. A resident of San Jose for the past four years, Mounts passed away here Wednesday. He lived with his son Herbert C. Mounts, at 453 East St. John street. Native of Indiana, he came here from Oklahoma, where he was engaged in farming. Other survivors include a son, Walter B. Mounts of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ray, Ralph, and Orville Mounts of San Jose; Mrs. Opal Lee Hale of San Jose; Evelyn Honegar, Virgil Mounts and Edith Hanner of Oklahoma; and nine great-grandchildren.

C. S. Mounts died Wednesday at the home of a son Herbert in San Jose, Calif., where he had resided during the past six years. Another son, Walter Mounts, lives near Kingfisher. Mr. Mounts, who was 88 years old, was a resident of this community for many years before moving to California. For the past two years he had been in failing health. Funeral service and burial were held at San Jose.
