Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, October 27, 2006:

Rita Germain Hampton, 68, of Centralia died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Moberly Nursing Rehab.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Fenton Funeral Chapel in Centralia. Officiating will be Father J. James Offutt, pastor of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia. Interment will be at Centralia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service Saturday at Fenton Funeral Chapel.

She was born Dec. 7, 1937, in New London, Conn., the daughter of Duncan and Laura Mozroll Dart.

On July 20, 1957, she was married in New London to Marvin Dean Hampton, and he preceded her in death Oct. 10, 2002.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia; and past president of St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and Missouri Nursing Home Administration Association. Rita attended St. Mary's College of Nursing in Hartford, Conn. She was a nursing home administrator, including Centralia for several years and, following retirement, she was a statewide consultant for nursing homes.

Survivors include four children, Cheryl Hampton of Sturgeon, David Hampton of Centralia, Robert Hampton and wife Venita of Auxvasse and Sheila Wood and husband Danny of Eldon; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Embree and Rebecca Embree, both of Sturgeon, Austin Dollens of Columbia, Dustin Dollens of Eldon, Melissa Archer and Stephanie Wright of Mexico, Mo., George Allen of Laddonia, Amanda Allen of Mexico and Chasity Waage and Regina Peters, both of Columbia; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and son Patrick Alan Hampton on Nov. 2, 1998.

Pallbearers are David Hampton, Robert Hampton, Austin Dollens, Dustin Dollens, Amanda Embree and George Allen.

The family suggests memorials to Central Missouri Kidney Association, P.O. Box 1915, Columbia, Mo., 65205.
