Clifton Hill Jr. Sandusky, OH Clifton Hill, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio on Tuesday November 1, 2011.He was born in Hinds County, Bolton, Mississippi, to the late Alberta and Clifton Hill, Sr. Clifton graduated from the Southern Christian Institute in Mississippi, then served his country for four years in the Army. He was a member of the 92nd Infantry Division also known as the "Buffalo Soldiers" and saw action in Italy during World War II. The unit was recognized by President Bill Clinton in January 1997. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Elizabeth Hayes and Pearl Berry, and son: Andre T. Hill. He is survived by daughter: Rozell R. (David) Duncan; sisters: Lydia Nicholson and Altha Mae Harris; brother: Ruben Hill; granddaughter: Yolanda R. (Allie Wims) Duncan; great-granddaughters: Allison and Alexis Wims; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.Visitation will be held at 11:00 am. on Monday November 7, 2011 at Giffin Chapel, Ohio Veteran Home, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio followed by an 11:30 am Homegoing service; Rev. Paul Birmingham officiating. Internment will occur at the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.Services entrusted to Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Oh. (419) 625-2655.
