John Blickenstaff, one of the oldest and best known citizens of Lauramie township, died at 3 o’clock this morning at his home a half mile west of Stockwell, on the Attica road. He had been sick for four months and a complication of diseases caused death. Mr. Blickenstaff was 72 years old and his entire life was spent in farming in Lauramie township. He was an honest, upright citizen, a man of high principles and highly esteemed in the community in which he resided. He belonged to the Masonic lodge and the Odd Fellows. He was also a member of the Christian church at Stockwell and a man of deep religious convictions. A widow, four sons and a daughter survive. The sons are; Ora, of Lafayette; Harry of Stockwell; John of Canana, and Oscar of Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Mary Frost, of Indianapolis, is a daughter of the deceased. The funeral will be held from the Christian church at Stockwell at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, Rev. Harry Hamilton, of Lebanon, will officiate and the interment Johnson cemetery.
