Laura Amos, 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, and funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.
Laura Amos was born in Houston, Texas on August 28, 1919. She married young and settled down in Calvert with her husband Joe Amos Sr., where they raised their 14 children together. Laura is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, "G.G." great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Amos Sr.; and daughters, Betty Sexton and Ruth Reece. She will be greatly missed.
