Grave contains unidentified body parts from crash of United Airlines Flight 409.

United Airlines Flight 409 was a scheduled flight departing from Denver, Colorado to Salt Lake City, Utah on October 6, 1955. The aircraft registration number was N30062, a Douglas DC-4 propliner. The aircraft crashed into Medicine Bow Peak, near Centennial, Wyoming, killing all 66 people on board (63 passengers, 3 crew members.) The victims included five female members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and military personnel. At the time, this was the deadliest airline crash in U.S. commercial aviation history.

The three crew members were identified as:
Capt. Clinton C. Cooke Jr., 35, Menlo Park.

Cooke lived at the Menlo Park address with his wife, Allee and his two children, Carolyn, 9, and James, 5. He had been with U.A.L. Since 1943. He had been a flight instructor in the Air Force. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Cooke, Sr., live in Cordell, Okla.

First Officer Ralph D. Salisbury, Jr., 33, Palo Alto.

Salisbury lived in Palo Alto with his wife, Betty, and four children, Roger, 6; Ellen, 5; Dickie, 3, and Kenny, 2. He also was an Air Force veteran, serving in World War II and with the Ames Aeronautical Laboratory at Moffett Field as an aeronautical engineer before joining United.
