Mr. Herman VanderHeide, aged 86, of Grand Rapids, passed away at Grand Rapids Home for Veterans on Thursday morning, October 16, 2003. Herman honorably served his country during World War II serving in the US Army, in the 10th Mountain Division, Ski Patrol. He is survived by two nephews, a niece, several cousins and friends. The funeral service will be held at Van't Hof Chapel, 851 Leonard St. NW on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends can meet his family at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral. Contributions in his memory may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice, 1401 Cedar NE 49503.
