Larry held several positions during his years of employment, notably the F.D. Stella Products Company in Detroit. The company was a kitchen and restaurant supplier. Later he worked for American Express which became Ameriprise where he retired from in 2007.
Larry's hobbies included classic cars, model trains and hunting. Beginning as a young child, he enjoyed going to his uncle's farm in Yale. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Mercier Council #2723 and attained the level of Third and Fourth Degree, the Alhambra Malago Caravan #188, St. Joseph Alumni and a Buick Car Club. Larry and his friends from the Buick Car Club for many years enjoyed going to the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Mr. Christian is survived by his wife Denise Maksymiw; his siblings, Margie Fetty, Charlotte Young, Fred Chrisitan, Jerry Christian (Kathy), Peggy Wolfe (Jim), Cliff Christian and Bob Christian; his sister-in-law, Marsha Maksymiw; a special nephew, Steve Burgess and several other loving nieces and nephews; his dear cousin Joseph Rodzos (Diane); his aunt, Mary Pardon and uncles Leo Stender and Albert Christian; and special friends Jack, Carl and Dennis. His German Shepherd, Duke, was a cherished buddy.
Visitation for Mr. Christian will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday under auspices of the K of C Cardinal Mercier Council. Mr. Christian will lie instate at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (St. Cletus), 26256 Ryan Road, Warren from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Sidney Eckert will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Richmond.
