MARION -- Christina Padgett Craddock, age79, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2002 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center of Herrin.
Chris was born on Jan. 21, 1922, in Herrin the daughter of W.E. and Violett (Lauder) Padgett.
Her working career was with General Telephone Company of Marion, for many years as a telephone operator. At the time of her retirement, her position with the company was that of Assistant Chief Operator.
Her church membership was with Zion United Church of Christ of Marion for many years.
Chris is survived by two sisters, Alma Fiscus of Clearwater,Fla. and Marjorie (Craig) Samay of Marion; nephew, Dean Northcutt of Clearwater, Fla.; two nieces Candy Lewis and Barbara McAlister both of Marion and several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one infant sister, Lola Padgett, preceded her in death.
The graveside interment service for Christina Padgett Craddock will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan 20, 2002 in Oakwood Cemetery of Carterville, with Rev. William R. Lewis officiating.
Those wishing to attend the service should gather at the cemetery prior to the time of service.
The Wilson/McReymonds Funeral Home of Marion is providing service to the family.
