LANGLEY, S. C. , May 21 - S. S. Benson, father of S. E. Benson of Augusta, died at the residence today after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at Pentecostal Holiness church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. B. R. Nichols officiating, assisted by the Rev. E. S. Timmerman. Interment will follow in Town Creek cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gussie Stewart Benson, two daughters, Mrs. C. H. Dix of Langley and Mrs. Mattie Clark of Gloverville, S. C.; three other sons, C. J. Benson of Bath, S. C.; Private (fc) G. A. Benson of Camp Gordon; and M. F. Benson of Langley; several nieces and nephews; 18 grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
Mr. Benson had been a resident of Aiken County all of his life, and was for a number of years a member of the Aiken Police department.
