POULTNEY - Dennis K. Brown Sr., 82, of Poultney, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Hydeville, the son of Harold J. and Dott M. (Zwicker) Brown.

Mr. Brown grew up in Hydeville and graduated from Fair Haven High School.

He married Lenore Reynolds on Sept. 23, 1950.

Mr. Brown was employed for several years by Fair Haven Mills, prior to relocating to Poultney in 1965, where he owned and operated a dairy farm until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Dennis K. Brown Jr. of Poultney, four grandchildren, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Lenore on March 25, 2008; a daughter Deborah Illinski in 2005; a son Darrell Brown in 1977; two sisters, Florence Colvin and Juanita Mullin; and four brothers, Gerald, Leonard, Ronald "Pete" and Andrew Brown.

There are no public calling hours or funeral service.

Private burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven.

Arrangements are with Durfee Funeral Home.
