"F. A. Sherman Dies at Home. Succumbs in Place Where He was Born in 1881. Frank Amory Sherman, Sr., 60, whose grandparents owned the old Lady Jane Grey private school property at Liberty and Court streets, now the Blnghamton Gas Co., died at the house in which he was born, 226 Court street, Monday night at 6:30 o'clock. For 35 years manager of the Wilson & Co., meat-packing branch at 94 Lewis street, until illness brought his resignation five years ago, Mr. Sherman had been suffering from paralysis. He was the son of the late Stephen A. and Louise (Amory) Sherman. His grandparents, were Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Amory. He attended the Binghamton Central High school and was graduated from the Lowell School of. Business. He entered the employment of Samuel M. Elliott, city coal dealer, and left this occupation 40 years ago to become manager at Wilson's Blnghamton branch. Mr. Sherman was active in community fraternal and social affairs. He was a member of the Blnghamton Lodge, 177, F. & A. M.; Otseningo Consistory, S. P. S. R.; Malta Commandery, 21, Knights Templar; Kalurah Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S., and the First Presbyterian church, Blnghamton. He is survived by his wife, Edna (Keller) Sherman; a son, Frank Amory Sherman, Jr., of Montclair, N. J., and a niece, Mrs. Carl Dedlow of Ithaca. The body was removed to the George H. Scholderer Home for Funerals at 269 Chenango street, and will be returned to 226 Court street, today, where funeral services will be held, probably Thursday."
