James served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Onondaga County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 1, 1943 in Syracuse, New York. He was noted as being employed in the fabrication of metal products and also as Single, without dependents.

He died in the "Line Of Duty" as a result of a "Non Battle" related incident during the war.

Military services for Corp. James N. Consroe, 20, of 617 N. Townsend St, who died in Thomas M. England, General Hospital, Atlantic City, Saturday will be conducted Thursday. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

The firing squad and bearers will be from Syracuse Army Air Base. Corp. James C. Sillo will be the escort.

Consroe was flown to the United States from Germany after he was stricken with a brain tumor July 15. He had been a member of the Third Army.

The corporal was inducted into the Army in February 1943 and stationed at Camp Edwards, Mass. He went overseas in June of last year.

Consroe was a graduate of Prescott School and attended Central High School. He had been employed by the Halcomb Steel Company. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Consroe, a brother, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Consroe of Cortland, a nephew and several aunts and uncles.
