The committal services for Private First Class Charles W. Cole, son of Mrs. Pearl M. Salisbury and the late Charles F. Cole of 6 Frank street, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family plot in Evergreen Memorial cemetery. Pfc. Cole was killed in action in Mindanao, Philippine Islands, May 6, 1945. He was 19 at the time of his death.
Born in Schenectady, PFC Cole attended Lincoln and Central Park grade schools and Mont Pleasant High School. After graduation he was employed at the Maqua Printing Co. He attended the First Church of Christ Science. He was drafted into the infantry Sept 30, 1943 and trained at Camp Blanding, Fla and Fort Oregon, Calif. He landed in the Philippines in April 1944 and was kill in May of the following year.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Agnes M. Cole of Schenectady.
