Loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, Nanna Marie Bettleyon, 79, of Hershey, departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 03, 2011 at the Life Care Hospital, Mechanicsburg, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Williamstown in her parents' home on January 13, 1932, she was the only daughter of the late Clyde and Mary (Dikon) Underkoffler.
Nanna graduated from Williamstown High School in 1949.
She had been employed by Nationwide Insurance in Harrisburg.
After moving to Hershey, Nanna worked as a Dental Assistant at the Milton Hershey School until her retirement in 1994.
She was a longtime and active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hershey. She was a faithful devoted servant of God and her church all her life, serving on most all of the committees in the church.
Nanna was an avid sports fan, attending all her grandsons' sporting events through their college years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: David M. Underkoffler in 2001.
Surviving Nanna are her husband: Robert O. Bettleyon; her daughter: Vicki M. Kulbacki, wife of Robert of Palmyra; her son: Marc J. Bettleyon of Hershey; her grandsons: Kellen R. and Matthew T. Kulbacki of Palmyra; and, her brothers: Edwin C. Underkoffler of Schenectady, New York and Philip E. Underkoffler of Lykens.
Services will be held Monday, November 07, 2011 at 11:00 AM in her church at 212 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey. Viewing will be held in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory in Hershey from 06:00 - 08:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2011 and also from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday in the church.
Interment will be Tuesday, November 08, 2011 in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
