DEATHS

Died, at her home in St. Louis, Mo., May 8, 1894, of paranetus, Alpha C. Campbell, in the thirty-fifth year of her age, leaving a husband, three sons, one daughter, father, mother, seven sisters and one brother.

She was born in Cooper county, Mo., August 13, 1859, the daughter of John H. and V.C. Kelly; was married to James E. Travis, March 9, 1879, two children being born unto them, Rommie H. and George E. Travis. Living a widow for right years, she was again married, this time to John P. Campbell, March 11, 1890, two children being committed to their care, John and Mabel.

Death came suddenly, but she was ready for the summons. She was a member of the Baptist church for nineteen years, always ready to do what she could to advance the Master's cause. There is a vacant place at the fireside, an aching void in our hearts, a longing for her sweet counsel, sympathy and love. But behold her, beaming with glory, on eternity's shore, joyous with loved ones and with Christ our Redeemer. May God, in His goodness and mercy, comfort our bereaved hearts, and help us to submit to His will, and prepare each of us to meet her in her beautiful home beyond the river of death.

The remains of Mrs. Campbell were sent home, and the funeral was conducted by Bro. C.F. Whitlock, in the presence of a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. The interment took place at Concord cemetery.

Rest, dear sister, on,
Naught shall disturb thy sleep;
Thy Father's holy will be done,
Though we be left to weep.

Shed not a holy tear;
Why should our hearts despair?
Thy darling spirit hovers near,
And whispers: "Meet me there."
