Edmund was preceded in death by his father, Edmund L Amiss II. He is survived by his mother, Rosemary J. Amiss, in addition to 11 brothers and sisters in order of birth: M. Michele Griffin, Harry W. Amiss, Tisha L. Fletcher, John F. Amiss, Steve F. Amiss, Thomas J. Amiss, Adrienne M. Sutton, David J. Amiss, Andrea E. Young, Susan M. Amiss, and Richard D. Amiss. Mr. Amiss is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew.
Ed enjoyed radio broadcasting and spent time early in his career as a reporter and newscaster for WDBQ in Dubuque Iowa. He also had a production company in Atlanta known as Gemini Broadcasting. Most recently, Ed could be found hosting and maintaining the Amiss family Website, keeping everyone in the know about current events in the family, the nation and the Florida State Seminoles. Ed loved the lord and seemed happiest attending Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he served as an usher, and was a member. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Interment to follow at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. All services are held in Tallahassee, Fla.
