J. Winton Hott, for a number of years a resident of Dayton, died at his late home, at Alexandria yesterday morning following a stroke of paralysis. A long distance message gave few details, but it is thought that the funeral will be held at Dayton sometime Friday.

Mr. Hott was a merchant at Dayton for a number of years, and was well known in that community as well as in Frederick County, which is the home of the Hott family.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters. He had four brothers all of whom were ministers, Rev. Kenny Hott, of Mt. Solon, who died recently. Rev. George Peter Hott formerly of Dayton, Bishop James Hott, of Dayton, Ohio, and Rev. Charles B. Hott, of California. One sister Miss Hott, of Winchester survives.

Funeral announcements will be made later.
