LUCILLE TUMMINS, 89, passed away peacefully at her home as she wished on Wednesday, October 12th, 2011, surrounded by family and dear friends. Lucille was one of 11 children born in Covington, Kentucky, on December 20th, 1921, to Mr. and Mrs. William Stein. She was happily married to Dr. Marvin Tummins for over 58 years until his death. Lucille went back to school after many years and received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Georgia. She was a very social person with countless friends and thoroughly enjoyed square dancing, playing bridge, visiting Las Vegas, and spending time with friends and family. She was an active member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church where she volunteered in the food pantry. She was a very loving, compassionate, and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and is survived by her sister, Irma; brother, Gil, daughter, Sharon; son, Bill, & wife, Beth; son, Tom, & wife, Debby; grandson, Andy, & wife, Dawn; grandson, Matt; grandson, Michael, & wife, Chelsea; grandson, David, & wife, Courtney; great-granddaughter, Isabel; and countless friends and relatives. Lucille was also very thankful for the companionship of George Fowler over the past few years. There will be no memorial service according to Lucille's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lucille's name to local food banks .
