The following information was provided by Keith & Linda Robertson:

Laura Branch Queen, age 96, of Chase Community passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Oakland Living Center.

Laura was born September 10, 1916 in Spartanburg County, S.C. to the late Charles Wesley Branch and Esther Buchanan Branch.

She was a homemaker and the widow of the late William "Roscoe" Queen. She was a dedicated member of Floyd's Creek Baptist Church since 1953 and was active in the Children's Sunday School Department as well as many other areas of the church. She loved her church and family dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Paul, Roy, Leonard and Elmer Branch; sister, Grace Morris and by granddaughter, Moriah Queen.

Survivors include two sons, Clemmey Queen and wife, Carley of Sylva, N.C. and Roger Queen and wife, Denice of Forest City; daughter, Janice Morrow and husband, Jerry of Forest City; sister, Janie White of Cherokee, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Greg Queen, Paula Gregg, Joel Morrow, Julie Reavis, Jason Morrow, Rodney Queen and Jeff Queen. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Floyd's Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Clemmey Queen and Reverend Greg Queen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. At other times they will be gathered at 450 Morrow Motor Road, Forest City.

Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
